Root canal treatment at Flevo Dentist

Why?

Under the visible part of a tooth or molar there is one or more roots. The root is in the jawbone and ensures that teeth and molars are firmly attached to the jaw. In each root runs a root canal with connective tissue, nerve fibers and small blood vessels, also called pulp.

An inflammation in the root canal. The tooth must be cleaned to heal. The tooth is then anesthetized very well.

The pulp can become inflamed by an infection through a cavity (caries), a leaking filling or after a hard blow to your tooth. Because the pulp consists of nerve fibers, such an inflammation can cause severe toothache or molar pain. But sometimes it is painless. So it can happen that you do not notice it, or that you have to be treated with severe pain complaints.

During root canal treatment, the root canal is cleaned. The bacteria are removed as much as possible and then the root canal is neatly closed with a filling. By cleaning the canals, the cause of the inflammation is removed and the body can heal this inflammation.

Treatment plan

After the examination, the dentist makes a treatment plan with the corresponding budget. The dentist will then discuss the treatment options with you and together we will choose the best treatment plan for you. The goal is to keep your teeth pain-free and inflammation-free for years to come with the chosen treatment plan.

The costs for the filling are fixed government rates which we will discuss with you in advance by means of a budget. You can pay this bill at the reception after the treatment. You will receive the invoice and you can submit it to your health insurance. If you have additional insurance, (part of) the costs will be reimbursed by your health insurer.
